Mountain Gorillas may also be found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There are both lowland and mountain gorillas in the country. Visits to the Congolese gorillas are becoming more popular all around the globe! Congo is safe and welcoming to all international visitors. You will undertake gorilla trekking in Congo’s Virunga national park on this gorilla safari. This two-day gorilla trip will begin in Rwanda, from whence you will transit to Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo across the Ugandan border at Chanika. The park features five gorilla families, with three of them being the most closely monitored.
DAY 1: Transfer from Kigali to Kisoro, a Ugandan border town.
You will be picked up by the driver/guide and transferred to Kisoro on the Ugandan border, a journey that will take you through a magnificent view of delicious Rwanda’s rolling hills, passing via Ruhengeri in Rwanda’s northern section and on to Chanika guest. Finish border preparations and enter Uganda. You may go on a guided nature walk, visit the common, lovely-looking Lake Mutanda, which is surrounded by volcanoes, and have a stroll along its beaches. Travelers Rest Hotel/Kisoro Tourist Hotel for supper and a mid-term stay.
DAY 2: Gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park
Cross the outskirts of Bunagana and travel to the Park Headquarters to learn about gorilla tracking laws and regulations before venturing into the bush to track gorillas in Congo’s Parc National des Virungas for an unforgettable experience. While looking for Mountain Gorillas, you will see spectacular birdwatching and primates like as Golden Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Black and White colobus monkeys, and enormous timberland swines, among others. You get up to an hour with these magnificent primates for perception and photography. Gorilla trekking through the forest, hillsides, and marshes may be hard, difficult, and exhausting, and may take up to 8 hours. In any case, seeing the amazing primates is well worth the effort. Return to Kisoro, Uganda, and after refreshments at the hotel, depart for Kigali, Rwanda, arriving late at night and departing early the next morning.
